A breath of fresh air.

Amidst the 2020 wildfires, we drove over the hill into eastern Washington. As we traveled up the summit, the smoke and hazardous air slowly subsided, and we had a glimpse of what life was supposed to look like.

In the smallest of small towns, we awoke before dawn. With clear skies, anticipation weighed heavy in the dark sky. But as it lightened, there was nothing but love, acceptance, and understanding.

Just a few days before their elopement Jessica was still working, dispatched to Oregon to respond to the summer wildfires that were creeping into fall. Both Jessica & Corey are first responders in a time that is extremely difficult to be human, let alone fighting on the front line. But for one weekend, they were human, with a breath of fresh air that is much deserved.

The hills still shown under the morning light, glimpsing at the fall season to come while paying tribute to a dangerous summer. Quiet vows on the lake bed, salmon spawning, and an experience forever reverberating sweet nostalgia.
